About

Thanks for visiting!

At Clydesdale Cabin, we create toys to encourage imagination, creativity, and family fun.  Specifically, we create logs, very similar to the classic Lincoln Logs.  Lincoln Logs have been around for over 100 years.  You may have enjoyed them as a child, like I did.

Clydesdale Cabin is really a one-man woodshop.  I have been making these logs since about 2003.  My first logs were intended for my own kids, and gave me a project to work on in the woodshop.  The first logs didn't turn out very well, but I found some helpful instructions on the internet (thanks, Ernie Miller on woodcentral.com).  Over the years, I have made a number of improvements to my methods, so I can now make accurate, high quality logs reasonably quickly and safely.

I have sold over 1000 sets of logs since first listing them on etsy.com in 2012, and have also sold them at near-by craft fairs.

Why "Clydesdale Cabin"? First, because someone else took the name "Lincoln Logs".  I wanted a name that used the same first letter for both words.  "Cabin" is a natural for this product.  Clydesdales are cool horses (although I've never had one).  I also have run a few marathons, in the Clydesdale division (men over a certain weight).  Finally, clydesdalecabin.com was available.  Maybe not great reasons, but I had to name it something.

Thanks for reading all the way to the end.  Please contact me if you have any questions, or want to order a custom set - I will be glad to put together something special for you.
